Enhance Your Creativity!
This is Dr. Carson’s most popular workshop. It introduces skills to enhance creative thinking and expression especially geared to a specific audience. Dr. Carson has tailored this workshop for artists, writers or writing groups, musicians and composers, bipolar or depression self-help groups, corporations, and civic or non-profit groups. The workshop is available as a half-day, full day or weekend retreat offering. Your group or organization will be uplifted and inspired by this experiential workshop!
Your Creative Brain
This workshop is based on Dr. Carson’s award-winning book, Your Creative Brain: Seven Steps to Maximize Imagination, Productivity, and Innovation in Your Life. In the workshop, Dr. Carson emphasizes that all of us are creative and have unique creative brains! Participants take the fun and informative Brainsets Quiz to determine which of the seven CREATES brainsets comprise their mental comfort zone. In the half-day workshop, Dr. Carson focuses on the three most salient brainsets based on the group’s quiz results. Participants practice important but fun creativity-expanding exercises. In the full day workshop, participants experience all seven CREATES brainsets. In both the half-day and the full day workshop, participants will be amazed as they begin to realize the true potential of their creative brains!
Four Factors to Increase Creative Responsiveness in Your Organization
In the rapid-change climate of the 21st Century, organizations need to be agile and innovative to survive. Is your organization going to be a victim of new technologies, AI, disruptors, and changing regulations, or are you going to take advantage of these unpredictable elements? Participants in this half-day workshop actively engage in four creative strategies that help convert high-level organizational thinking from a this-is-the-way-it’s-done attitude to a flourishing-in-uncertainty mindset.
Enhancing Creativity in Your Employees (and Yourself)
While the “Four Factors” workshop focuses on setting the stage for creative responsiveness at the corporate/organizational level, this half-day workshop focuses on enhancing creative ideation at the individual level. There are countless examples of brilliant and successful innovations arising from employees in unexpected roles who have nothing to do with R & D. Strengthening creativity skills in your employees (and yourself) will increase the number of creative ideas your workforce generates, as well as improving corporate and individual wellbeing. The workshop includes exercises in four important creative thinking skills.
Enhancing Creativity in Your Organization, Your Employees (and Yourself)
This 8-hour workshop combines the Four Factors to Increase Creative Responsiveness and the Enhancing Creativity in Your Employees workshops to present a morning focused on creativity at the corporate level and an afternoon focused on creativity at the individual level. Corporate leaders will walk away from this day motivated to inspire creative problem-solving at all levels of their organization. A weekend retreat edition of this workshop is also available.
Resilience Workshops
Bouncing Back…And Bouncing Forward: Resilience Skills for the 21st Century
In this workshop, participants learn about and practice key resilience skills, including stress management, emotional regulation, problem-solving, realistic optimism, and skills to build social support. Participants develop a personalized Resilience Toolkit. This workshop is available as a half-day or full day experience.
Build Your Resilience Toolkit
This workshop includes five modules developed by Dr. Carson to bolster positive outlook and aid prevention or recovery from stress or burnout: Staying Calm (tools for managing physiological activation); Thinking Straight (realistic optimism, personal strengths, gratitude); Dealing with Problems (positive coping strategies, problem-solving, making good choices); Achieving Life Goals (setting realistic goals, time management); Working Well with Others (communicating assertively, resolving conflicts, building a support team). Participants engage in meaningful exercises and develop a personalized Resilience Toolkit. The workshop is available as a full-day or weekend experience.
Habit Change Workshops
Positive Habit Change for Improving Health and Happiness
This workshop is based on Dr. Carson’s award-winning Habits course at Harvard. Participants will learn the basics of the habit loop as well as many evidence-based strategies for forming healthy habits, improving well-being, and over-writing bad habits. The workshop is available as a half-day, full day, or weekend retreat experience. In the full day and weekend workshops, participants will also learn how to improve problem-solving abilities through forming positive habits and creativity. Session One includes an Introduction to Habits and Habit Change to Improve Health, including strategies for improving habits and changing unwanted habits. Session Two focuses on mental habits that may be interfering with your ability to flourish and pursue happiness, as well as habits to improve problem-solving and creativity. Participants will leave the workshop feeling creative and more empowered to make meaningful habit changes for health and happiness!
